MDiv. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Dziobko, Jr., that was taken near Cove, Pennsylvania, on 9 June 1962. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9553 and three more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9553 was constructed as an EH-15 in December of 1948, later regeared and reclassified as an EF-15A, and retired in December of 1964 after just 16 years of revenue service. This A-B-B-A set is powering an eastbound mixed-cargo freight train. ("Stoneborobranch"; #55 of 56) |
