Built by Baldwin in September of 1906, SOU 2-8-0 Consolidation type #842 led a very long service life. It was finally retired and sold for scrap in March of 1952 after 46 years. Rebuilt specs - serial #29123, Ks class, 57" drivers, 22.5x30" cylinders, 215 psi boiler pressure, engine weight of 208,000 lb, tractive effort of 46,000 lb.All 3148 members in the Ks class were retired by 1953. No photographer listed. |
